How to create #FOMO for your business

  • As a #FOMOCreator I have created the buzz and excitement of a conference, a festival, a summit, a challenge, webinars and training courses both for face-to-face events and online events, but what if you don’t have an event or training course to promote? What if you have a product or a service to sell?

What if you’re not comfortable being on video but you know that video is one of the best ways to engage with your audience and prospective clients? This is where you can create the buzz and excitement of your product or service by way of a conversation with your #FOMOCreator host: MayKing Tsang  (Don’t ask me why I’m talking in the Third Person 😄).

For many years (pre-Covid), I created a series called #ShiningTheSpotlight on Periscope (i.e. Twitter Live) and interviewed business owners, rock bands, and poets at events, festivals at networking events in Australia, the UK and in the US. I published some of them onto my @maykingtea IGTV Channel and some of my interviews can be found on my #FOMOCreator YouTube Channel.

But this isn’t about me: this is about you and how you can have a Zoom interview transformed into a Video that you can publish onto your Social Media Platforms, with your branding, your logo, we caption your words and finish the video off with your call to action.

When you are in possession of said video, you can create FOMO for your business by creating a teaser which builds anticipation for your followers, like I did for the Lincolnshire Tea and Coffee Company in this Instagram Post.

When the full interview is published, you can create more FOMO by:

  • Publishing the video onto all of your Social Media platforms.
  • You can write to your email community and do a show and tell with your new video.
  • Why not show your video off to Facebook Groups or LinkedIn Groups you are a part of (if the groups allow that sort of thing of course!)
  • Put the video onto your personal Facebook Page or personal LinkedIn page and wax lyrical about the interview.
  • You can also put the video onto your website.

How cool izzat!?!? And not only that!! According to the urban dictionary, I’m also classed as an influencer which means I will also:
